Anzhik Hakobyan

Anzhik Hakobyan was born in Leninakan (present day Gyumri). She finished faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University. From 1953 to 1966 worked at “Avangard” newspaper as a literary worker, then as the head of the department, between 1966 to 1986 worked at “Garun” newspaper as an executive secretary, deputy Editor-in-Chief, then the chief editor. 1986 to 1988 was the Editor-in-Chief of “Literary” newspaper. She did a lot of translations, was a member of Journalists Union, Writers Union of Armenia. In 1962 and in 1965 Anzhik Hakobyan was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR, in 1982 she was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Armenia, in 1986-Badge of the Komsomol Central Committee for "Impeccable work". She died in Yerevan.
