Leonid Derbenyov

Leonid Derbenyov was born in Moscow. During World War Second he lived in Suzdal with his family, after moved to Moscow. The poet’s debut was the publication of poems in the All Union newspaper “Pionerskaya pravda”. In 1954 he finished Moscow State Law University at the same time he wrote poems. His poems were published in newspapers, he also did translations. Since 1959 Derbenyov started writing songs. He is an author of more than 2000 poems most of which are songs. He worked with famous Soviet composers. Leonid Derbenyov died in Moscow.
