Mushegh Aghayan

Mushegh Aghayan the son of writer Ghazaros Aghayan was born in Tiflis. He studied at Nersisyan School and was the student of Makar Yekmalyan. Between 1907 to 1911 he studied at St. Petersburg Conservatory and during 1925 to 1930 at Moscow Conservatory. Aghayan worked as a singer (baritone), had concerts in Yerevan, Moscow and Tiflis. From 1930 lived in Yerevan. From 1934 to 1939 was the Chairman of Composers Union of Armenia. Together with Shara Talyan they released numerous song collections. He received the title of Honored Art Worker. Mushegh Aghayan died in Yerevan.
