Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
The Armenian Radio Archive ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the armradioarchive.am website and the Armenian Radio Archive mobile app, how we use it, what your rights are, how you can delete your account, and how the archive recordings may be used.
What data we collect
We provide free public access to the archive and collect as little personal data as possible:
- anonymous usage data (pages visited, approximate region, device and browser type) to improve the service;
- your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter;
- the details you include in your message, if you contact us;
- if you create an account: your first and last name, your email address (which is also your username) and your password. We never store your password in readable form, only a protected hash of it;
- your library, if you have an account: the playlists you create (and whether they are public), the songs you like and the artists you follow.
The app also keeps a few settings on your device, such as your language, your sign-in session and the current player queue. While you are confirming a new account, the details you entered stay on your device until the confirmation code is accepted, so a new code can be sent if needed. They are then removed.
How we use your data
- to operate, maintain and improve the website, the app and the listening experience;
- to provide your account: signing in, and saving and showing your playlists, liked songs and followed artists;
- to send the confirmation and password-reset codes you request by email;
- to reply to your messages, comments and suggestions;
- to occasionally send news about new recordings and events, if you have subscribed.
We do not sell your personal data.
Public playlists
Playlists you mark as public can be seen by other listeners, including their name and the songs in them. Private playlists are visible only to you. You can make a playlist private again or delete it at any time.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the website and optional analytics cookies to understand how the archive is used. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.
Recordings and copyright
All recordings, texts, photographs, biographies and other materials in the archive are the property of the Public Radio of Armenia and the Armenian Radio Archive, or are used with the permission of their respective rights holders.
The archive is provided free of charge solely for personal, non-commercial listening, study and enjoyment. You may not:
- copy, download or reproduce the recordings for redistribution;
- broadcast, publicly perform or stream the recordings on other platforms;
- sell, license or use any material for commercial purposes;
- alter the recordings or remove the attribution.
For any use beyond personal listening, including educational, research, broadcast or commercial use, please contact us in advance for written permission.
Third-party services
The website and the app may use trusted third-party services (for example, audio streaming and analytics) that process limited technical data to perform their functions.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time.
On the website: sign in, open the menu with your initials in the top right corner, choose “Delete account” and confirm.
If you can't sign in: email [email protected] from the email address of your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete the account and confirm by email within 30 days.
What is deleted, permanently and right away:
- your account and sign-in details (name, email address, password);
- all your playlists, including public ones, your liked songs and your followed artists;
- all your sign-in sessions, so you are signed out on every device;
- any pending confirmation codes.
This cannot be undone. Anonymous usage statistics that cannot be linked to you may be kept. Deleted data may remain in our routine encrypted backups for a limited time, up to 30 days, until those backups are overwritten.
You can sign up again later with the same email address. That creates a new, empty account.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data you have provided (for example, your newsletter email address or your account details). You can delete your account yourself as described in "Deleting your account". For anything else, contact us.
Contact
