Baghchi Durn E Batsvel

Naghash Hovnatan was born in Shorot, Nakhijevan. He mostly lived in Tiflis and Yerevan. He is considered one of the most prominent representatives of late medieval secular poetry. He left rich literary heritage very similar with ashugh’s works. Naghash Hovnatan is an author of more than 100 satirical, feast songs. He was invited to Tiflis as a courtier poet and painter. Naghash is the author of wall paintings in the churches of Armenia, Georgia, Persia he was recognized as a skillful artist and earned the honorary name "Nagash" (artist). He is also the author of the painting of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Died in the village Shorot.
