Ֆլիտե ղուտո

Karapetê Xaço (Karapet Khacho; born c. 1900 – died 15 January 2005) was an Armenian singer of traditional Kurdish dengbêj music, born in the village of Bileyder (now Binatlı, Batman Province, Turkey). He survived the destruction of his village in 1915 during the Armenian Genocide and served for nearly 15 years in the French Armenian Legion. In 1946 he settled in Yerevan, where he worked for the Kurdish-language service of Yerevan Radio; his recordings of traditional songs are widely known. His recordings are kept in the archive of the Public Radio of Armenia.
