Raffi Hovhannisyan was born in Ltchashen (Gegharkunik region). He was soloist at Aram Merangulyan’s folk instruments ensemble. His playlist included songs of Komitas, Sayat Nova, Jivani, ashugh Sheram, ashugh Havasi, ashugh Ashot and ashugh Shahen. He had concerts in different countries where he represented Armenian music. Raffi Hovhannisyan performed songs “Karabakh”, “Horovel”, “Dun en glkhen”, “Annman tarazov” and others. In 1978 received title Honored Artist of Armenia. He died in Yerevan.
