The Winter Of Our Worries

Born in the city of Ordzhonikidze (now Vladikavkaz). Years later he moved with his family to Armenia and lived in Alaverdi. Here his parents, the Honored actors Hovhannes and Araks Msryan, founded a theatre, where the schoolboy Vladimir and his sister Zhasmen also sometimes appeared in small roles. In 1958-1962 Vladimir Msryan studied at the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute. In 1963-1964 he worked at the Theatre of the Young Spectator, in 1964-1966 at the Stanislavsky Russian Drama Theatre, and from 1966 at the Yerevan Drama Theatre. He played roles in the theatre and appeared in films. In 1987 Vladimir Msryan was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Armenian SSR, as well as the State Prize of Armenia and the Movses Khorenatsi medal. He died in Yerevan; his funeral took place at the Yerevan City Pantheon.
